Mt. Rainier viewed from Paradise

We reached the visitor's center at Paradise (the farthest you can drive
up the mountain in the winter), and set off on foot up the Alta Vista
trail. The views from the visitor's center were spectacular, and they
only got better as we got higher up.
It was very cold here, at over 5000 feet. Paradise is just about at the snow line, and not much below the tree line. |
